NEW BOOKInformation Literacy: Search Strategies, Tools & Resources for High School Students and College Freshmen, Z. Ercegovac, Linworth Publishing, 2008.

One of the most important components of a school/college library is its strong interconnectedness to the curriculum and research activities. We are actively involved in the curriculum planning making sure that the faculty and students are fully supported for their research projects in, for example, history, science, foreign languages, the arts, and world cultures. New book that integrates Standards for the 21st-Century Learner (ALA) and information technology  (National Educational Technology Standards) titled Information Literacy: Search Strategies, Tools & Resources for High School Students and College Freshmen (2008) is published in its 2nd edition. Most of the contents are integrated at different levels, classes, and projects.

Some of the class projects are on historical figures and their contributions to different cultures (within History 7). Other projects are on every day lives of the ancient Romans (within the Latin class). Science projects include topics on the alternative energies, global warming, genetics, biomes, and many others. See some of the WebQuests that I have compiled as resources for our teachers on a wide variety of subject matters, themes, and grade levels.
